BioCathy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC,) a certified EMDR therapist, and specializes in the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Body-Mind Psychotherapy. She is a highly sensitive, warm, and heart-focused person. Cathy takes her professional work seriously, but also believes in taking joy from hiking in the Colorado mountains, gardening, and dance. Her passion is helping people find happiness by harmonizing mind and body, deepening relationships, and helping the highly sensitive person thrive. Cathy maintains a high level of confidentiality, ethical standards, and professionalism. She enjoys working with diverse clientele, especially highly sensitive people, trauma survivors, and brain injury survivors. She has been practicing individual and couples counseling since 2009.

She has taught classes in sensory awareness, emotional intelligence, and Nonviolent Communication. She also led the Mild Brain Injury Support Group at the Brain Injury Alliance for five years. As a mental health provider, Cathy is involved in helping more people access healthcare services. She has led the healthcare action team of Arvadans for Progressive Action (APA), a healthcare activist organization since 2016. Three educational workshops on improving the delivery of affordable, high-quality healthcare (and how to pay for it) were planned and implemented by Cathy’s team. Cathy speaks about mental health issues and healthcare in the Denver area. She has also testified in person and in writing advocating for universal healthcare since 2008.
